About this directory
What this directory is
Malaysia Tour Agency Guide is an independent directory covering 305 tour agency businesses across Malaysia. It exists for travellers and locals trying to work out which agency actually delivers, whether that’s a city day-tour operator, an island-hopping specialist, or a full custom itinerary planner. Instead of asking you to wade through scattered reviews on half a dozen apps, we pull the public information together, apply one published scoring method, and lay it out so agencies can be compared on the same terms.
We are also honest about the other half of what we do. Malaysia Tour Agency Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource, and we also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that. That commercial relationship never touches the scores or the earned rankings. The two functions, ranking and matching, are kept deliberately separate.
Where the data comes from
Each listing draws on public business records and a synthesis of recent Google reviews. We don’t copy or republish review text. Instead, we read the pattern in recent feedback and summarise the sentiment, and we link back to the agency’s Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself. Combined with public details like services offered, years active, and contact information, this becomes the basis for each profile.
How the ranking works
Rankings come entirely from a published rubric applied to the data we collect. There’s no pay-to-rank option. Full scoring criteria live on our methodology page, so you can see exactly what pushes an agency up or down before you trust the order.
When a listing carries paid promotion, it’s labelled “Sponsored” and displayed as a separate placement, never folded into the earned ranking list. Payment buys visibility, not a better score.
A listed agency can request corrections to its own factual details (address, phone, services, hours) and we’ll update them. What it cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or its position in the rankings. That stays under editorial control, not business control.
Who’s behind it and how fresh it is
This directory is published by Meridian Guides, which has run independent city directories for everyday services across Malaysia since 2025, all using the same published scoring method built on public customer reviews. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Janice, Editor. Data across the directory refreshes on a monthly cycle, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see it’s being actively maintained rather than left to go stale.

FAQ
- Can an agency pay to rank higher?
- No. Rankings come only from the published rubric applied to public data. Sponsored placements are labelled separately and never change the earned ranking.
- Do you post the actual Google review text?
- No. We synthesise recent review sentiment into a summary and link out to the agency's Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.
- What can a listed business change about its own profile?
- It can correct factual details like address, phone number, or services offered. It cannot edit its score, sentiment summary, or ranking position.
- How often is the information updated?
- The directory refreshes monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
- What happens when I ask to be matched with an agency?
- We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee. This never affects how agencies are scored or ranked.
